Pebworth’s Cultural Apothecary asks viewers to consider the root causes of the cultural ills that contribute to our anxieties today, and to work together towards tools for healing. Her installation at MASS MoCA will offer an experimental space for embodied, in-person connection, curiosity, and exploration as an antidote to division, loneliness, and isolation.
Locke’s the fire next time is a meditation on uniquely American forms of violence directed at Black and queer people. In his interdisciplinary practice, Locke engages issues of identity, desire, race, violence, and memory, revealing as much tenderness and humor as he does brutality.
